1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE AND INTRODUCTIONS


2. MEMBERSHIP CHANGES

 

The Committee is requested to note that, at Bristol City Council's Annual Meeting on Tuesday 13th May 2008, Councillor Christopher Davies was elected Lord Mayor and has, therefore, replaced Councillor Royston Griffey as Chair of the Downs Committee.

 

Please also note the following changes in Bristol City Council membership which have been made in accordance with the constitution of the Downs Committee.

 

Councillor Dennis Brown has replaced Councillor Chris Davies

Councillor Royston Griffey has replaced Councillor Ron Stone


3. MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 31st MARCH 2008

 

- to be confirmed as a correct record.


4. PUBLIC FORUM

 

Interested parties can submit a written statement to the Downs Committee by sending it to the Democratic Services Officer no later than 12.00 noon on Friday 4th July 2008 on the contact information below.


5. REPORT OF THE DOWNS RANGER

 

- to update the committee on works and developments carried out since the last meeting.

6. DELEGATED AND UPCOMING EVENTS PROPOSED ON THE DOWNS

 

- to inform Members of applications for events between Committee meetings, update Members regarding proposed upcoming events and to report events and filming that have occurred under delegated powers.

7. AN AUDIT OF EXISTING INTERPRETATIONAL AND DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE AND PROPOSALS FOR THE FUTURE

 

- to agree the recommendations following an audit of existing interpretational and directional signage.

8. ESTABLISHMENT OF A SUB-GROUP TO CONSIDER AVON GORGE MANAGEMENT PROPOSALS

 

- outline the need to establish a sub-group of the Downs Committee to inform the development of the Avon Gorge Management Plan and guide its development thereafter.

9. GBBN BUS IMPROVEMENT AT BLACKBOY HILL

 

- to propose the exchange of land ownership and agree to undertake an 'airspade' survey
