Purpose:
A procurement solution must be identified to
ensure that independent SEN placements are made in line with
procurement regulations.
This will also enable us to better manage cost and quality of
provision as well as ensuring better outcomes for our most
vulnerable and complex SEN children and young people.
Decision:
Approved the following procurement solutions to secure independent Special Educational Needs placements which ensure that placements are made in line with procurement regulations as outlined in the report:-
1. In the short term, option b - join an existing Dynamic Purchasing System
(DPS) led by West Sussex County Council DPS at no cost to Bristol City
Council.
2. In the long term, option e - join West Sussex when they procure a new DPS in
2017/18 which would enable us to be involved in the development process
and ensure that it fully meets the needs of Bristol City Council.
