Purpose:

BCC are actively installing heat networks across the city in order to support the Mayor’s commitment for Bristol to be a carbon neutral city by 2030 and to reduce fuel poverty. This grant funding will support the funding of the next stages of development of the Temple and Bedminster heat networks

Decision:

Approval to receive Round 10 grant funding from UK gov BEIS Heat Network Delivery Unit (HNDU) to fund design, planning and development of the Bedminster and Temple heat networks

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 - An alternative would be to not apply for the funding and have to fully finance the project using BCC own funds. This was rejected on value for money grounds
