Purpose:
Cabinet authorised the Executive Director of
Growth and Regeneration in consultation with the Mayor (with
appropriate legal, finance and procurement advice), to procure,
enter into contract and constructed new homes of social rent and to
be managed by the HRA.
Decision:
That the Executive Director of Growth and
Regeneration in consultation with the Mayor (with appropriate
legal, finance and procurement advice) approves entering into
contract with Willmott Dixon Limited for the construction of 57 new
council homes.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - The alternative is to sell the
sites, but this is likely to result in a lower level of
“genuinely affordable” homes being delivered.
Option 2 - The scheme enables the HRA to spend RTB receipts at risk
of being returned.
Option 3 -The proposal is for a revenue generating scheme that will
benefit the HRA Business Plan.
