The Government OHID (Office of Health
Improvement
To offer a direct award to Bee Zee Bodies for
12 months, giving a further year to embed an asset-based community
development approach to healthy weight.
(i) Preferred option was to commission a new 3
year service (with RFQ process) starting 1st July 2022 as detailed
in Cabinet Paper taken through decision making process and
scheduled for May, but withdrawn at the last minute due to reversal
of government decision to fund. Therefore, no secure funds for 3
year service.
(ii) RFQ process for one year is not a sensible option because
building on the current work necessitates continuation by BeeZee
Bodies, as it has taken many months for them to build the necessary
relationships and trust and collaborative working with PH,
organisations, groups and communities. We would not be appropriate
to start again with another provider, just for one year.
