Purpose:

Bristol City Council are applying to central government for funding to support energy efficiency improvement works to 469 council homes. The funding bid also includes financial support for leaseholders within the blocks covered by the bid. The SHDF funding presents a significant financial opportunity for the council to attract central government funding to support the delivery of energy efficiency work to our council homes to help meet our energy and net zero carbon strategic objectives.

Decision:

Approval to apply to central government for funding to support energy efficiency improvement works to 469 council homes.

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 - Alternative options would be fully financing the works from the HRA (and missing out on government funding for the works),
Option 2 - Or not proceeding with the works – and not improving the thermal efficiency of our homes or progressing to meet energy efficiency and net zero targets.
