Purpose:

The Undertaking of Refurbishment and Demolition plus targeted and Full Asbestos Management Surveys contract was due to end at the end of February 2023. However, the contractor is performing to a high standard and BCC are receiving a good service so we are extending the contract for the full 24 month option.
As the contract is going well and the option is available, this is the most suitable course of action for the service and avoids needing to go through another competitive tender process which takes time and would also have a considerable cost to BCC.

Decision:

To extend the Asbestos Surveying contract for 24 months to 1 March 2025.

Option 1 - The alternative was to go through another competitive tender process, but due to the reasons above the option to extend was taken.
