Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Exceptional Approval Process under the Grant
Bid and Claim Protocol.
BCC successfully applied for funding from July 2022 to March 2025
and was awarded £9,877,081 for this period working in line
with govt aims to end rough sleeping by 2024. We have been invited
to bid for further funding for the next two years, whilst also
seeking to gain approval from DLUHC to remodelling some of the
funding that has already been allocated against a project that is
now costing us less than we originally bid for.
Decision:
Exceptional approval has been given (due to
time constraints it has not been possible to gain cabinet approval
in advance) to submit a targeted funding bid linked to the Rough
Sleeping Programme for £886,182 covering the period
2023/25.
The bid and has been confirmed from Executive Director, The S151
Officer and The Deputy Mayor - Cabinet Member for Finance,
following approval from the Cabinet Member for Housing Delivery and
Homes and the Director of Homes and Landlord Services. A report is
due to go to Cabinet on 5 September to approve the award and spend
of the award that will be made.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - To not bid for the funding.
Rejected on the basis that additional resources will reduce rough
sleeping in Bristol.
