Rough Sleeping Initiative (RSI) Move on and Prevention funding
Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Bristol City Council successfully applied for
funding from July 2022 to March 2025 and was awarded
£9,877,081 for this period working in line with government
aims to end rough sleeping by 2024. We have been invited to bid for
further funding from DLUHC for £302,669 for services that
prevent people rough sleeping or assist people to move off the
streets.
Decision:
Approval to submit a funding bid to DLUHC for
£302,669 for services that prevent people rough sleeping or
assist people to move off the streets using the exceptional
approval process. Due to time constraints it has not been possible
to gain formal approval as there was a three week window to put
forward a proposal to use the funding.
Approval has been sought to submit the bid and has been confirmed
from Executive Director, the deputy S151 Officer and the Deputy
Mayor - Cabinet Member for Finance, following approval from the
Cabinet Member for Housing Delivery and Homes and the Director of
Homes and Landlord Services. There is no need to take this decision
to cabinet as the funding is below £500,000.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - To not bid for the funding.
Rejected on the basis that additional resources will reduce rough
sleeping in Bristol.
