This development is part of the on-going
Council House New Build programme and forms part of the
Mayor’s ambition to increase council house numbers as part of
Project 1000. If this contract is not approved, and LDS are not
appointed, this would have implications on the build programme and
council house delivery.
Bristol City Council wishes to commission
architectural and multidisciplinary services on the Filwood Brodway
site in Filwood, Bristol. Constellia have been instructed by
Bristol City Council to appoint Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands
(LDS), to progress RIBA stages 3 and 4a, and to discharge necessary
planning conditions. The council is therefore seeking approval to
enter into a contract with Constellia, who will in turn subcontract
with LDS to deliver the services.
Option 1 - The scheme was originally being
developed by AECOM, with LDS as a subconsultant. AECOM’s
appointment came to an end following Detailed Planning Permission
being secured. As LDS had carried out the design work for the
Planning Permission, there are obvious advantages to retaining
their services to develop the detailed design in preparation for
entering into a building contract. A comparison of the prices
submitted by LDS shows that they are value for money.
