Approval of budget for feasibility stage assessments for New Bristol Special Free School

For progression of the feasibility stage; an alternative option of waiting until the DfE’s 2nd Stage business case approval and grant offer is received by the Council was considered. This was rejected due to the impact on programme and a good confidence in securing DfE approvals in due course. The decision further reflects that the feasibility stage site assessments being procured are appropriate expenditure under the allocated High Needs Capital Grant Allocation for any circumstance where the studies were used to inform taking forward alternative SEND provision within the selected location.
