Purpose:

BCC decided to collaborate with the Core Cities on this submission in order to combine our thoughts and expertise on this issue.

Decision:

The government has asked for input on the current Fuel Poverty Strategy and what changes can be made to make it more effective. BCC has decided to make a joint submission in partnership with the Core Cities Group.

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 - Alternatives would be:
•No Submission – failure to submit feedback would be a missed opportunity to contribute to changes in the fuel poverty strategy.
•Submission solely by BCC – would have been valuable but would not have made best use of the combined experience and knowledge of the core Cities Group.
