Scheme Approval Report for the development of land at St Peters and 45 Bishopthorpe Road (`Land-led’ scheme)
Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To accelerate the provision of housing to meet
the Mayor’s target of making sure that 2,000 new homes
– 1000 affordable – are built in Bristol each year by
2024.
Decision:
That the Executive Director of Growth and
Regeneration in consultation with the Mayor (with appropriate
legal, finance and procurement advice) approves entering into
contract with Mi-Space (UK) Ltd for the construction of 28 new
council homes, a community facility and a children’s
home.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - The alternative is to sell the
sites, but this is likely to result in a lower level of
“genuinely affordable” homes being delivered.
Option 2 - The scheme enables the HRA to spend RTB receipts at risk
of being returned.
Option 3 - The proposal is for a revenue generating scheme that
will benefit the HRA Business Plan
