South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhoods Project – Funding for business case
Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
On 23 January 2024, Cabinet approved decision
to accept £600k in CRSTS funding from WECA.
Original commission under the Bristol City Council-Strategic
Partnership Initiative with contract value of circa £72k for
Phase 1 (feasibility study) of the SBLN Project was completed in
March 2024.
The decision is to approve additional funding for development of
the draft Full Business Case and preliminary designs by April
2025.
Decision:
Approval of expenditure of £273,049.70
for Phase 2 Stage 1 of the South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhoods
project to enable development of the draft Full Business Case and
preliminary designs via the Bristol City Council-Strategic
Partnership Initiative.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Alternative option is to wait for a
single funding decision for the entire project, but this is not
practical and will delay progress on the full business case with
negative impacts on delivery of the project before the CRSTS
funding/spending deadline of March 2027.
