The Lord Mayor welcomed all attendees to the meeting..

Apologies for absence were heard from Councillors Beech and O’Rourke.

To note any declarations of interest from the Councillors.  They are asked to indicate the relevant agenda item, the nature of the interest and in particular whether it is a disclosable pecuniary interest.

Any declarations of interest made at the meeting which is not on the register of interests should be notified to the Monitoring Officer for inclusion.

None received.

To confer the honour of the Freedom of the City of Bristol on Val Jeal MBE.

The Council considered a report recommending the conferring of the honour of Freedom of the City and County of Bristol on Val Jeal MBE.

The Lord Mayor introduced the report and moved the recommendation.

The motion was seconded by Mayor Rees.

Following speeches from Councillors Breckels, Grant, Lesley Alexander and Clark in support of the recommendation, it was

RESOLVED –

1.      That the Freedom of the City of Bristol be conferred upon Val Jeal MBE.

2.      That their name be placed on the Roll of Honorary Freeman of the City.
