The Lord Mayor welcomed all attendees to the meeting and made a safety announcement in relation to the fire/emergency evacuation procedure.

Apologies for absence were heard from Councillors Denyer, Godwin and Jackson.

To note any declarations of interest from the Councillors.  They are asked to indicate the relevant agenda item, the nature of the interest and in particular whether it is a disclosable pecuniary interest.

Any declarations of interest made at the meeting which is not on the register of interests should be notified to the Monitoring Officer for inclusion.

None received.

To confer the honour of Freedom of the City of Bristol on Daryn Carter.

The Council considered a report recommending the conferring of the honour of Freedom of the City and County of Bristol on Daryn Carter MBE.

The Lord Mayor introduced the report and moved the recommendation.

The motion was seconded by Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Varney.

Following speeches from Councillors Craig, Edwards, Weston and Brown in support of the recommendation, it was

RESOLVED –

1.      That the Freedom of the City of Bristol be conferred upon Daryn Carter MBE.

2.      That their name be placed on the Roll of Honorary Freeman of the City.
