Current Claims, Inquiries and Miscellaneous Rights of Way matters pdf icon PDF 160 KB

Minutes:

The Network Operations Manager introduced the report and highlighted key points regarding some of the items listed in Appendix A - Applications for Definitive Map Modification Orders, Appendix B – Miscellaneous rights of way orders, Appendix C – Enforcement actions and Appendix D – PROW improvement programme.

Members were advised that the government has recently announced that the deadline for recording historic public rights of way (not applications based on user evidence) has been scrapped. The previous government had also planned to scrap the cutoff date for historic paths to be registered but later decided to extend it from 2026 to 2031, on the grounds that it would provide more certainty for landowners, councils and users.

A member raised a concern about a wall at the top left of the public footpath / alleyway that connects Imperial Walk to St Martin's Gardens, Knowle Bristol was damaged and leaning into the footpath. The Network Operations Manager confirmed that the wall had since been taken down.

RESOLVED – that the report be noted.
