To deal with selection arrangements in relation to the senior management re-structure

Minutes:

The Head of Human Resources introduced this report. He indicated that, following discussion and the decision made at 8th December 2017 HR Committee, it was proposed that the membership of the Selection Committee for the Senior Management Re-structure should consist of a Panel of three members as follows:

The current Interim Head of Paid Service or Interim Service Director HR & Workforce

A member of the Executive

A member of the Selection Committee who is not from the ruling party political group

Following a Councillor’s request, it was agreed that the Panel should be subject to gender balance with at least one member being from each gender.

The Head of Human Resources clarified that officers were recommending that, as agreed at 8th December HR Committee, one of the Panellists was not from the ruling party political group.

It was further clarified that, following consultation with the relevant Panel members, it was anticipated that interviews would be set up for the week commencing Monday 8th January 2018.

Councillor Gary Hopkins moved, seconded by Councillor Richard Eddy and, upon being put to the vote, it was

RESOLVED (Voting: 6 for, 0 against, 1 abstention) that, where existing job holders are required to attend an interview as part of the selection process in relation to the new senior management structure, the Panel members will be the current Interim Head of Paid Service or Interim Service Director HR & Workforce, a member of the Executive and a member of the Selection Committee who is not in the ruling party political group.
