Constitution
This constitution sets out how the council operates, how decisions are made and the procedures followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to residents. Some of these processes are required by law, whilst others are a matter for the council to choose.
The constitution is divided into six parts which set out the basic rules governing the council's business as well as more detailed procedures and codes of practice.
You can go straight to a particular part of the Constitution by selecting the relevant link, or view/download the document in its entirety by selecting "Document pack" near the top of the page.
