Downs Committee
Purpose of committee
The Downs Committee was set up by the Clifton and Durdham Downs (Bristol) Act in 1861.
The Committee is responsible for the management of the Downs. The Membership of the Committee is made up of the Lord Mayor and six Members of Bristol City Council, as well as the Master and six members of the Merchant Venturers.
