Save Vincenzo's restaurant in Bristol

We the undersigned call on Bristol City Council to cancel plans to knock down this iconic Park Street family owned restaurant which has served the people of our city for over 50 years and replace it with more anodyne student flats.

As reported by Bristol Live on May 22nd, plans have been approved to demolish Vincenzo's so it can be replaced by a development which includes sixteen student flats and a shop.

Work is expected to begin within the next three years resulting in the end of Vincenzo's and loss of six jobs. This Italian has been owned by the Ricci family since 1970 and they are determined to see out their lease which runs until 2025.

The news has been met by widespread dismay by countless generations of Bristolians who have brought their families and friends to enjoy the cuisine.

Not only that but the building is one of the last remaining on Park Street to be redeveloped following the Blitz in WW2.

So it is a disgrace the council have agreed to let this piece of Bristol history and cultural heritage to be destroyed. This cannot be allowed to happen!
