Save the Lower Ashley Road Maples

We the undersigned Want the council to revoke the permission granted to developers to fell the mature maples on Lower Ashley Road. We believe that there is adequate access to the site for development via the side-roads, and therefore this action amounts to merely a cost-saving bonus for the developers. Bristol council has declared a climate emergency, and this area has dangerous levels of air pollution. We therefore believe that any major tree felling should not be undertaken without full support from residents.

A previous petition centred on this issue gained several thousand signatures

Residents are still very angry, and are mobilising to stop the chainsaws by physically protecting the trees. The council should re-evaluate the planning decision in light of the obvious huge local opposition.
