Make Church Road (Horfield) safe.

We the undersigned call on Bristol City Council to make Church Road, Horfield, safe.

Church Road is heavily used as a cut through between Gloucester Road and Kellaway Avenue. Local residents report speeding vehicles and there have been numerous incidents where parked vehicles have been hit.

The road is also used as a pedestrian route for families taking children to local schools and nurseries and to the play areas on Horfield Common.

Residents in Church Road have been calling for action for years. The former (Horfield and Lockleaze) Neighbourhood Partnership agreed funding for initial work to outline the possibilities for traffic calming, however by the time this work was completed, changes to the Neighbourhood Partnerships meant that no money was available to choose an option and implement it.

Now we are calling on Bristol City Council to bring forward a solution to slow the traffic down, or cut the “rat-run” altogether.
