The area has always had to contend with litter left by a minority of selfish park users but, since the start of lockdown, last March, this problem has only worsened. We believe that to remove the waste bins (near well-trodden paths) is a backwards step that will encourage or result in even more fly-tipping. In fact, the number of these units need to be increased rather than reduced.

We are therefore calling on the Mayor to reverse this decision and, at the very least, keep the current amount of public bins but preferably look at ways of increasing this level of provision.
