ADD FROME VALE TO THE COUNCIL’S SPECIAL SCHEME REQUIRING A LICENCE FOR ALL HMOs

We the undersigned , the residents of Frome Vale, call on Bristol City Council to licence all Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs) in the ward.

There are now far too many of these properties in our area and the current limitation of only licencing houses of five or more people means that these are the only ones considered in the planning process. This clearly gives a false picture of the true situation around the propensity of this type of housing. It is essential that this failing or omission is rectified at the earliest opportunity. Moreover, until this change has taken place, ALL known HMOs must be included and form a part of decision-making by planners when determining any new applications.
