We the undersigned request the council seriously consider the lack of statues of Bristol-born women in the city. First female doctor in the US, Elizabeth Blackwell, is one of the most famous women in American history but she was born and spent her childhood here in Bristol. It is a shameful oversight that she and her incredible medical achievements are not being celebrated by her hometown! Please do more to celebrate Bristol women in statue form.
