Barriers - Lanes End cycle path

We the undersigned request that a set of barriers be installed on the cycle path on Lanes End in Brislington in order to help prevent the numerous motor vehicles (many unlicensed) from speeding up and down there and using it as a short-cut. This also applies to motorcycles used by Deliveroo and Just Eat drivers that do the same. It would also calm the electric scooters that hurtle down the cycle path at very high speeds. Having a set of barriers after the garages and before the path narrows would be a significant step.

There are many users of the cycle path, and putting barriers in would:

1. Safeguard the vulnerable (e.g. old people and children) that could potentially be hit by these vehicles;

2. Ensure that any motor vehicle that does happen to be traversing the cycle path doesn't get hit by a car pulling out from a driveway in the area. This could also help to safeguard cyclists that might also be coming down the path;

3. Enable law enforcement to detain offenders that use the path as a short-cut where the police cars cannot follow.
