Pedestrian Crossing for St George's Road needed

We the undersigned Would urge the council to prioritise the need for a pedestrian crossing on St George's Road by the Three Tuns. This crossing is used by primary school children that attend St George's Primary School CoE on Queen's Parade, and children who attend Bristol Cathedral School.

There are two primary schools, one secondary school, and one college, which use St George's Road to get to school on the weekdays. The road is invariably busy during school pick-up and drop-off hours, and at peak hours in the morning and afternoon. Even though it's meant to be a 20-miles-an-hour zone, the cars tend to go much faster.

It can take a few minutes to find a safe time to cross the road. For children going to school without adult supervision, this wait may be too long and an accident is bound to occur at some point soon.

Very young children need to use this road and there is no pedestrian crossing, no crossing guard, nor an island refuge.

Please consider adding a pedestrian crossing for the safety of the children.
