Proposal of a new north Bristol railway stop
Adding a passenger stop at this location will give the people of Henbury and north Bristol access to much needed rail services with quick access to Filton and Bristol City Center, as well as Shirehampton and Avonmouth
Expanding the rail service should not cost an exorbitant amount, as there is already a freight branch line linking St Andrews Road to Filton Abbey Wood.
With the increasing number of new houses being constructed in the surrounding areas this proposed station, it would greatly improve the mobility of people who are reliant on the first bus services in the area.
With the station being situated at Bennett Close, people would be a 30 minute walk to Cribbs Causeway, or a 5 minute walk to Clifton Rugby Club. The latter of which suffers from a lack of parking space, which is often seen by the large number of cars parking outside of the club on match days.
Situating a station here would also give the opportunity for a short shuttle service between this site and the Bristol Zoo Project, as while moving to the outskirts of Bristol has given more space to the animals, does mean that there is a restricted ability for those reliant on public transport which the old site of the zoo previously had.
