The Downs & their protection.

We the undersigned Protect The Downs from being spoiled through anti-social behaviour, litter, speeding cars and irresponsible parking,

The Downs is an area of beauty to be enjoyed by all. It's like a beech within Bristol, allowing people to picnic, exercise or just gather socially. Because of its size, ease of access and facilities, its a very popular area for people to flock to. However, as its free to use, it does tend to be taken for granted, and can be abused by people leaving their litter, playing loud music into the evening, parking on The Downs, and racing around in cars, making the area unpleasant and unsafe. I would ask that on high days and holidays that larger bins are made available, Park Rangers or Community Officers are in attendance to ensure BBQ rules are followed, and that litter is disposed of properly, and temporary speed bumps are placed along Ladies Mile, Circular Road and Rockleaze and Downleaze, to limit the 'boy racing'. This can all be achieved at minimal expense, allowing The Downs to be enjoyed by all.
