Improve Road Safety - Broomhill Infant School, Fermaine Avenue, Bristol

Improve Road Safety - Broomhill Infant School, Fermaine Avenue, Bristol

Link to Petition: https://www.change.org/p/improve-road-safety-broomhill-infant-school-fermaine-avenue-bristol

We, the undersigned families of Broomhill Infant School and residence of Fermaine Avenue and surrounding area, are deeply concerned about the deteriorating condition of road markings on Fermaine Avenue and the lack of any road markings directly outside Broomhill Infant School. The faded and unclear double yellow lines, along with the lack of any yellow zig zags, pose a significant safety risk to pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

Therefore, we petition Bristol City Council to take immediate action to:

· Repaint all road markings on Fermaine Avenue with high-visibility yellow paint.

· Install caution signage to inform of school nearby and children crossing. To be installed on roads leading on to Fermaine Avenue as well as Fermaine Avenue itself.

· Improve signage of one way street.

· Install bollards to stop illegal parking that is a danger to pedestrians, making accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs. Additional bollards also to be erected near the Pelican crossing on Broomhill Road, a main pedestrian route to the School.

· Regularly maintain road markings to ensure optimal visibility at all times.

By addressing these issues, we can significantly improve road safety and prevent potential accidents in our community. We need action to avoid possible tragedy.
