Extension of the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO)-Cabot

The current Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) runs from 20th October 2017 until 20th October 2020. Under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 Revised: August 2019 PSPOs can remain in place for up to 3 years. They can be reviewed and extended, or allowed to lapse. They can also have the area extended and further conditions applied.
The Cabot PSPO restriction states, ‘No person in the Restricted Area shall be in possession of any opened or unsealed bottle or container of alcohol’.
Consultation with the police, and the general public indicate that the presence of a PSPO assisted:
•in the general management of the area; and
•in reducing the fear of crime.
