Enabling Technology for Clean Air Zone (CAZ)
Bristol City Council has been directed by
Government to implement a Charging CAZ D.
The Council's proposal consists of deploying both fixed ANPR
cameras and mobile systems to enforce the Clean Air Zone. The
contract also includes a full back-office management system and
interfaces to other applications / agencies.
A recent tender was carried out for both CAZ and Bus Lane
Enforcement (BLE) devices so that the Council has one contract/one
supplier. The contract was awarded prior to JAQUs decision, and as
per the tender was initially for just the BLE element. A Tender
Report for this was signed off by the Executive Director Growth and
Regeneration on 22.06.21.
Now that JAQU have formally signed off the Council’s full
business case for a Charging CAZ D, the Council needs to
‘enable’ the CAZ D element of the contract.
