The Bristol Port Company (First Corporate Shipping Limited)

Description

City Wide nomination

This is a private limited company which was established by the current operator of Avonmouth and Portbury docks, when the city council decided to relinquish control of the former Bristol Port Authority.

Part of the agreement reached with the operator (First Corporate Limited) was that the city council should nominate a representative to serve as a board member on the company which was established.

The nominee does not have to be a councillor.

Following the appointment, the nominated person will be asked to sign a letter to state that they accept the appointment and agree that 86.7% (in 2012/13 this equated to £13,000) of remuneration received from the Bristol Port Company (trade name for First Corporate Shipping Limited) will be allocated to the Lord Mayor of Bristol’s Children Appeal.
