City Wide nomination

The Bristol Port Welfare Committee is established under the auspices of the Merchant Navy Welfare Board, who as the umbrella charity for the maritime charity sector. MNWBIt is a registered charity, but the city council’s nominee is not appointed as a charity trustee. Each committee comprises representatives of organisations concerned directly, or indirectly, with the welfare of seafarers visiting the ports, or locally domiciled.  The nominee does not have to be councillor.
