Decision details
Site Remediation Approval to enable the development of land at Brunel Ford (former car dealership), Muller Rd, Bristol. (`Land-led’ scheme).
Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To accelerate the provision of housing to meet
the Mayor’s target of making sure that 2,000 new homes
– 1000 affordable – are built in Bristol each year by
2024.
Decision:
To enter into contract with Walters Group to
undertake the remediation of the ‘old’ Brunel Ford
garage site to enable the construction of 32 new council
homes.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - The alternative is to sell the
sites, but this is likely to result in a lower level of
“genuinely affordable” homes being delivered.
Option 2 - The scheme enables the HRA to spend RTB receipts at risk
of being returned.
Option 3 -The proposal is for a revenue generating scheme that will
benefit the HRA Business Plan.
