Purpose:
Decision taken so the Council will continue to
meet its legislative duties under the SEND Code of Practice
2015.
Decision:
The Council has approved the use of the
extension clause in the statutory SEND Information Advice and
Support Service (SENDIASS) contract for 12 months until 31st of
March 2023 at a cost of £140,000. Decision note’s the
ongoing progress towards a full recommissioning of the
service.
Alternative options considered:
One other option was considered, to end the
existing contract in March 2022 and re-commission a new contract to
start in April 2022. This was not taken forward as the preferred
option because the current contract is performing well. The service
is delivering good outcomes for children and young people as well
as their families?and service users report very high satisfaction
rates
