Conversion and development of 63-69 Kingsland Rd, Lawrence Hill,
Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
This decision is made in accordance with the
HRA Development Programme 22-27 approved by Cabinet in February
2022 to accelerate the provision of housing to meet the
council’s ambition is to work with partners, local
communities and developers to deliver 1000 new affordable homes
each year by 2024.
Decision:
Approval to award a contract to convert four
redundant shop units into eight one bed flats at 63-69 Kingsland
Rd, Lawrence Hill, Bristol.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - The alternative is to sell the
sites, but this is likely to result in a lower level of
“genuinely affordable” homes being delivered.
Option 2 - The scheme enables the HRA to spend RTB receipts at risk
of being returned.
Option 3 -The proposal is for a revenue generating scheme that will
benefit the HRA Business Plan
