Scheme Approval Report for the development of land at Greville, Lacey Road, Stockwood (`Land-led’ scheme).
Decision Maker: Executive Director: Growth and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Project 1000 Affordable Housing Delivery Plan,
and New Council Homes Development Programme (HRA Business
Plan)
This decision is made in accordance with The Project 1000
Affordable Housing Delivery Plan 2022-25 which outlines how the
council will focus its land, time, money, and influence to improve
the way affordable housing is delivered in Bristol.
This decision is also in accordance with the New Council Homes
Development Programme (HRA Business Plan) approved by Cabinet and
Full Council.
Decision:
That the Executive Director of Growth and
Regeneration in consultation with the Mayor (with appropriate
legal, finance and procurement advice) approves entering into
contract with Stepnell Ltd. for the construction of 21 new council
homes and 5 Shared ownership homes, with a start on site in August
2024.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - The alternative is to sell the
sites, but this is likely to result in a lower level of
“genuinely affordable” homes being delivered
Option 2 - The proposal is for a revenue generating scheme that
will benefit the HRA Business Plan.
