Decision details
Legal services to support procurement and set-up of the City Leap Energy Partnership.
Decision Maker: Director: Management of Place
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Establishment of the City Leap Energy
Partnership will have significant benefits for the carbon footprint
and energy costs of the entire city of Bristol.
This is of interest to all Councillors who supported a motion in
November 2018 to put a Bristol on a trajectory to be zero carbon by
2030.
Decision:
To award a contract to Burges Salmon for
provision of Legal services.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - That all Legal Services required
for successful procurement of a City Leap strategic partner could
be achieved through the Council’s legal teams. This was
rejected due to lack of resource to meet the project timeline, the
skills required to follow a new regulated process, and required
reliance on the indemnity cover of an external legal firm.
Option 2 -
Option 3 -
