Purpose:
In line with the council’s workforce
plan and corporate strategy, Bristol City Council wants to equip
our workforce with cutting edge, innovative tools that enable
employees to improve outcomes for children and young people.
This decision will give the council access to a package of virtual
reality headsets. These immersive training tools will be used to
increase understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs),
contributing to our ambition to be an ACE informed City.
Cornerstone will deliver 36 virtual reality headsets and associated
training package. This will enhance Council employee’s
ability to communicate with young people who have experienced
trauma. In addition, Council employees will be able to support
potential foster carers and/or adoptive parents.
Decision:
To approve the award of the contract to the
Cornerstone Partnership (Cornerstone).
Alternative options considered:
Other procurement Options have been explored.
A direct award to Cornerstone Partnership would seem to be the way
to deliver the requirements of the contract. We will review the
outcome of this service before expiry to determine if this has been
successful.
