Body bags are used by the Flax Bourton Public and Forensic mortuary in usual operation in certain circumstances. During the Covid 19 pandemic, the mortuary deceased resting place capacity was increased to accommodate the anticipated additional deceased. Deceased people at the mortuary would be resting in a different environment where the use of body bags would be appropriate. Body bags were in short supply and so a substantial stock was purchased. If they are not needed, they will be stored and used over subsequent years.

To purchase 6,000 body bags for the Flax Bourton Public and Forensic Mortuary.

Specialist bags are necessary to maintain the dignity of the deceased and no alternative was considered.
