Purpose:
In November 2018 the City Councillors and
Mayor of Bristol declared a climate emergency. In the
‘Climate Emergency Action Plan’ it sets out
Bristol’s ambition to be a carbon neutral and climate
resilient city by 2030.
Heat networks have been identified as central to achieving these
targets by delivering low carbon heat to buildings around central
Bristol.
Decision:
Linear Park is a PRS residential development
on Avon Street, on the Old Market Network of Bristol Heat Network
(BHN). It has been connected since August.
BCC signed separate Connection
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Heat networks are central to
achieving the Mayor’s goal for Bristol to be a carbon neutral
city by 2030 as well as help to tackle fuel poverty by providing
heat to residents at lower prices.
The signing of developments Connection and Supply Agreements to the
heat network is essential to growing the heat network and
delivering heat to businesses and developments.
