Purpose:
DfE Guidance, published in the School
Admissions Code (2014), states arrangements must be determined by
28th February 2021.
Decision:
To agree the proposed school admission
arrangements and co-ordinated schemes for primary and secondary
schools for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The admission arrangements are largely unchanged from the policies
determined for 2021/2022. apart from some changes to
wording/phrasing which have been rewritten in line with guidance
from the DfE.
BCC has updated the process for clarifying a child’s home
address, following the publication of the Office of the School
Adjudicator (OSA) Annual Report September 2018 to August 2019.
Child Benefit payments have been removed as a form of
evidence.
The arrangements have also been updated and reformatted for
accessibility using the BCC standards.
The documents went to public consultation between 30th November
2020 and 31st January 2021, with information sent to all relevant
parties as well as being published on the BCC website and Citizen
Space consultation page. No objections were raised with regards to
the proposed documents.
