Purpose:

The Mayor of Bristol has set out the objective of delivering 2,000 new homes, 800 affordable, each year. In response to this the Council allocated £57m for the provision of a grant funding programme to Registered Providers and other eligible non-profit making organisations for the delivery of affordable homes for rent and supplementary grants to incentivise the development of zero carbon affordable homes, the adoption of modular housing and the building of wheelchair accessible homes. This award relates to the 23rd round of grant funding by the Council under the Affordable Housing Funding Policy (current version approved by Cabinet on the 2nd April 2019).

Decision:

Approves the grant allocation to Knowle West Media Centre of £180,000 for the development of 2 affordable rented homes, in accordance with the Affordable Housing Funding Policy. This decision is made under delegated authority for the award of grant (including those in excess of £500,00) to support the delivery of affordable housing approved by Cabinet on 7th March 2017.
