28/06/2021 - Bristol City Council School Term and Holiday Dates 2022/2023 ref: 1095    Recommendations Approved

Bristol City Council is required to set term dates for the Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools in Bristol in collaboration and co-ordination with Local Authorities in South West England, including neighbouring Local Authorities; Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The decision was put to public consultation which was open from 14th May to 25th June 2021, Other schools, which are not Community and VC schools, are responsible for setting their own dates so these may vary from those set by BCC.

Term 1: Thursday 1st September 2022 to Friday 21st October 2022 (37 School Days)
Term 2: Monday 31st October 2022 to Friday 16th December 2022 (35 School Days)
Term 3: Tuesday 3rd January 2023 to Friday 10th February 2023 (29 School Days)
Term 4: Monday 20th February 2023 to Friday 31st March 2023 (30 School Days)
Term 5: Monday 17th April 2023 to Friday 26th May 2023 (29 School Days)
Term 6: Monday 5th June 2023 to Friday 21st July 2023 (35 School Days)
Total 195 School Days*
*In the school year 2022/23 pupils must attend for 190 days. School may decide which 5 days in the school year are INSET or non-contact days (days when pupils do not attend)

06/07/2021 - Grant Funding for Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) services ref: 1090    Recommendations Approved

•A significant amount of work was done to reshape the IAG Grant in 2019 implementing a ‘step-change’ towards a ‘whole system’ model of integrated advice services, a referrer/citizen friendly system (see Appendix A and Ab)
•The Cabinet meeting on 3rd March 2020 approved the extension of the grant funding plan for one year to provide an opportunity to review the grant arrangement and align it with the city council strategic approach to advice and ethical debt (see Appendix B)
•This wider council project has not progressed due to Covid -19 and limited resource
•Current grant arrangements are working well, delivering benefits to Bristol Citizens and driving strategic improvements in the advice sector (see Appendix C)
•The Cabinet meeting on 3rd March approved the option to extend the current grant for a further two and a half years to 30th April 2024
•Extension of the current grant will provide stability to the advice sector at a time of high demand and allow time for Bristol City Council time to consider the strategic fit of the grant in the future.

29/06/2021 - Mini Competition for removal of asbestos containing floor tiles, artex textured coatings, night storage heaters and shadow vacuuming ref: 1077    Recommendations Approved

To carry out a mini competition with the suppliers from Lot 2 of the Asbestos Removal Framework to obtain schedule of rates for the provision of the removal of asbestos containing floor tiles, artex textured coatings, night storage heaters and shadow vacuuming within BCC void properties.

02/07/2021 - Payment of the National Leisure Recovery Fund (NLRF) award of £140,037 for Hengrove Leisure Centre to Parkwood Leisure Limited. ref: 1076    Recommendations Approved

Approval to allocate the £140,037 NLRF award from cost centre 10463, to Parkwood Leisure Limited.
The Council has been allocated funding under the National Leisure Recovery Fund (NLRF), which is a programme administered by Sport England to support leisure centres that are owned by local authorities and operated by third parties such as the Recipient, that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bristol City Council is bound by the provision in the signed Leisure Recovery Funding Grant agreement, (dated 18th March 2021) with Sport England, to flow down relevant terms and conditions, which will apply to the award of NLRF funds to the Recipient.
Bristol City Council has received a signed sub grant agreement with Parkwood Leisure Limited
Relating to the National Leisure Recovery Fund and COVID-19, and such terms are intended to ensure that the NLRF funds are passed across and used for the purpose for which it was awarded by Sport England.
Councillor Asher Craig – Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Communities, Equalities and Public Health has been consulted on the decision and is supportive.
This decision enables payment of the above grant allocation to support the recovery of leisure operations at Hengrove Leisure Centre.
