Diesel car ban proposals

We the undersigned Review the MOT standards to ensure that polluting vehicles are not allowed on the road and enable the public to report vehicles that vomit black exhaust.

The current proposals are extreme and do not address the core problem. A blanket ban on diesel cars does not take into account that modern diesel cars are far more fuel efficient and less polluting that older diesels and many petrol cars, particularly those without start / stop function. The previous consultation was overly complex and undoubtedly intended to dissuade the public from providing a balanced view. Stop this ridiculous proposal and review the MOT standards, as opposed to forcing the public to buy new vehicles, to replace already efficient vehicles. New vehicles contribute to further CO2 emissions and this 'throw away' culture must stop.
