In light of the revelation that Bristol is in breach of pollution limits, we request that the bus and taxi lane heading in to Bristol from Avonmouth is made available to standard vehicles who carry more than one passenger. During rush hour times, cars on Portway can face upwards of 20 minute delays. Allowing carshare vehicles to utilise the taxi and bus lane will reduce the amount of time vehicles have to spend crawling along the Portway. This will reduce the pollution emitted from such vehicles, alongside encouraging the more environmentally friendly practice of car sharing.
