This service was previously provided by University Hospital Bristol who gave short notice that they were not able to provide the service due to failure to recruit the necessary staff. BCC needed to ensure continuation of service in order to avoid a gap in service for vulnerable individuals. By giving Next Link this contract on a temporary basis, who already provide a similar service in Southmead Hospital, it allows BCC to ensure there is no break in service and it will enable BCC to continue this important service until ta review and procurement process has taken place. There are plans to recommission all domestic and sexual abuse services from July 2021
