Appointment of Honorary Aldermen PDF 438 KB Full Council is asked to consider the recommendations of the Audit Committee’s Values and Ethics Sub-Committee and confer the title of Honorary Alderman of the City and County of Bristol upon former Councillor Anthony Negus, and posthumously for former Councillor Mike Langley. Minutes: The Full Council considered a report from the Director, Legal and Democratic Services recommending the appointment of the late Mike Langley and former Councillor Anthony Negus as Honorary Aldermen of the City and County of Bristol:
Councillor Rippington moved the appointment of the late Mike Langley as an Honorary Alderman of the City and County of Bristol. The recommendation was seconded by Councillor Holland.
Councillors Dyer, Eddy, Varney and Hopkins addressed Full Council, expressing their support for the nomination.
On being put to the vote, it was
RESOLVED: That Mike Langley be appointed as an Honorary Alderman of the City and County of Bristol
John Langley, Alderman Mike Langley’s brother and Darren Langley, his son, approached the dias to receive the badge and certificate from the Lord Mayor and John addressed Full Council.
Councillor Classick moved the appointment of Anthony Negus as an Honorary Alderman of the City and County of Bristol. The recommendation was seconded by Councillor Kent.
Councillors Pearce, Poultney, Lesley Alexander and Hopkins addressed Full Council, expressing their support for the nomination.
RESOLVED: That Anthony Negus be appointed as an Honorary Alderman of the City and County of Bristol
Alderman Negus approached the dias to receive his badge and certificate from the Lord mayor and addressed Full Council. |
